What is Jing Fang?

Jing Fang 經 方 is the name given to the set of formulas that were compiled during the Classic Period of Chinese Medicine, between the Han and Tang dynasties.

This was a fertile time in the evolution of Chinese Medicine, completing its entire theoretical and clinical concepts, and where important works are written such as Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing (神農 本草 經), Shang Han Za Bing Lun (傷寒 雜 病 論) and others.

None of the books of this time has been so well studied as Shang han za bing lun (傷寒 雜 病 論), which was later compiled into two books:  Shang han lun (傷寒 論) and Jin gui yao lue fang lun (金匱 要略 方 論). These two have been research bases for over a thousand years, standing out for their usefulness in the clinical practice of internal medicine and, for this reason, they have given rise to innumerable schools of thought within Chinese Medicine.
